Volunteer Opportunities

Please contact us if you think that your vocational expertise could be leveraged for ZanaA.

Some of the areas ZanaA needs volunteers to assist with are
1) Administrative support
2) Grant-writing and fundraising
3) Production of PR materials - documentaries, posters, brochures, website assistance, etc.
4) Academic research projects in the fields of sociology and economic forecasting

Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree
- Good written English skills
- Able to receive only basic remuneration for costs incurred and/or small stipend

In addition, we have opportunities for one-off visits to Kibera to observe a Girls' Empowerment Group or Boys' Empowerment Group, which meet every day Monday through Friday, with children ages 6-12 in the mornings and teenagers ages 13-18 in the afternoons. We will give you an orientation, show our documentary, and ensure you have a safe experience led by our Junior Field Officers. We request a donation of $10 for a visit to off-set our costs.

For those who would like to volunteer more time in the field, we are looking for commitments of one half-day or more per week for as long as you can commit, to match you with a Junior Field Officer to visit schools. During these times, you would help distribute sanitary pads, answer students' questions, talk to head teachers about MakaPads, and/or talk with women's groups who are already selling MakaPads or who might be interested.

Please call our office on +254 (0) 732.492.622 or fill out the form on the Contact Us page.
